Student Life: Central Student Government is a Bronze level Sustainable Workplace. The office has set the default to print as duplex, uses 30% recycled content paper, and have reminders to turn off the lights!
Student Life: SAPAC-Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center is currently at the bronze level in the Sustainable Workplace program. The office shuts off all equipment (including their monitors) to reduce energy use and has the printer default set to duplex.
Union Technology Services is a Bronze level Sustainable Workplace. The office makes efforts to avoid printing unnecessarily. Tools such as Box and other online collaboration tools are used. When printing is necessary, duplex printing is used.
UMHS General Pediatrics is at the Bronze level by simply providing a location for staff to recycle of pens, toner and electronic media, checking with Property Disposition before buying furniture new and setting up a process to cancel unwanted periodicals and catalogs.
Pierpont Commons Admin is a Bronze level Sustainable Workplace. The office has removed all space heaters from the workplace. Printing is kept to a minimum and recycle containers are clearly marked.
Student Life: Inn at the Michigan League is at the Bronze level in the Sustainable Workplace program. The Inn sets room thermostats at 80 degrees in the summer and 67 degrees in the winter when rooms are not in use. All room light bulbs have been switched to LED bulbs.
IT Support Services earned their certification by enabling sleep mode on all computers, powering down equipment at the end of the day, and removing unnecessary printers. Recycling bins are well placed and clearly marked, and the team makes effort to further reduce waste by having duplex printing as the default, and conducting paperless meetings.
Student Life: Recreational Sports IMSB received a Bronze level Sustainable Workplace certification. The office turns off computer equipment when not in use, have a collection area for recycling pens, batteries and electronic media and use at least 30% recycled content paper.
The HIM Coding office earned their Bronze certification by setting up recycling bins and descriptive signage and expanding collection areas for special items including batteries, pens/pencils and printer toner. The department formed a Green Team to integrate communication about sustainability into everyday practices as well as new staff orientation, and staff have completed the online PBA training tool.
Biological Chemistry became Bronze certified by setting equipment for energy-saving settings, having clear recycling areas for paper and containers, avoiding single-use water bottles, and encouraging sustainable purchasing practices.
