The Student Sustainability Initiative serves as the umbrella over all of the sustainability and environment-related student organizations on campus.
Mission
SSI’s mission is to foster a culture of environmental sustainability and awareness at the University of Michigan by supporting student initiatives, projects, programs, and events. SSI facilitates connections and collaboration between students and student organizations, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members with the goal of advancing sustainably on campus.
Goals
1. Increase SSI’s cross-campus visibility as the student sustainability resource for students and student organizations
2. Facilitate collaboration between students, student organizations, U of M administration, and external entities
3. Increase the diversity and strength of the UM sustainability community
