Ann Arbor is known for a lot of things. Football, trees, and really smart people are all icons in the University of Michigan community.
One thing that often seems missing, though, is a connection to the freshness of Michigan’s rolling farmlands. While we certainly have beautiful trees, it can be hard to buy a good carrot on campus.
Cue M Farmers Market. A few years back,Michigan Dining, University Unions, and Central Student Government decided the Ann Arbor community needed some farm-fresh in its day-to-day schedule. Every fall since, we’ve connected with the coolest and most dedicated farmers to bring students, professors, and townies fresh produce, straight from the fields of the Mitten State.
Turns out, Wolverines like vegetables. We have had a great time meeting with people and serving up an experience unlike anything else on campus. Because we like to keep things fresh, we’re adding a few new twists to the Markets this year. A few food trucks might stop by. Some non-veggie local products might show up on our tables. An apple might actually keep a doctor away. (Just kidding about the apple. Doctors love apples.)
Whether you’re a food nut or somebody that just wants to support the state’s awesome farmers, M Farmers Market has something for you. Make sure you stop by the Diag on September 15th and October 13th, as well as the Duderstadt Patio on September 29th and October 27th.
If you can’t wait until then, follow us on the interwebz for previews, crazy-good deals, and veggie pics.
