The U-M Community is invited to EarthFest on Tuesday, Sept. 21 on the Central Campus Diag and Thursday, Sept. 23 at "The Grove" on North Campus, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. Highlights will include:
- A trash sort will take place on the Diag. Several cubic yards of trash from a campus building will be sorted by volunteers to visually show what can be recycled versus sent to a landfill.
- Attendees will have the opportunity to draw on and sign a 4' x 10' pledge banner as a show of commitment to undertaking sustainable practices, such as conserving energy, reducing water consumption, actively recycling and other actions.
- U-M student entertainment groups will be performing on both days.
- Representatives from the Campus Sustainability Integrated Assessment teams will update attendees on the latest news regarding the campus-wide project and to discuss Phase II actions that will be taking place this fall.
