If you're a U-M student with a passion for environmental sustainability, we encourage you to apply for a part-time, paid position as a member of the Planet Blue Student Innovation Fund (PBSIF) Review Board. PBSIF is an $150,000 fund offering grants for student-led, large-scale, innovative projects that enhance campus sustainability. Members of the Review Board will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the expansion of sustainability at U-M by making grant decisions that will support the start-up of exciting new projects, which this past year have included the UMSFP campus farm, Go Blue Box at the U-Club, the new bike pumps and stations on campus, the Ann Arbor Student Food Co's produce stand.
PBSIF is currently recruiting for one undergraduate student and one graduate student to fill two openings on the board for the 2013-2014 academic year. As a member of the PBSIF Review Board, you'll work approximately 100-125 hours throughout the year.
Members of the PBSIF Review Board are responsible for publicity activities, grantee supervision, and annual grant decisions. This includes, but is not limited to: participating in two informational sessions for potential applicants, attending at least four 2-hour PBSIF office hour sessions during the fall funding cycle, and overseeing and developing relationships with existing and future grantee teams. Board members must review all grant proposals and participate in the feedback and voting process for both.
Review Board members will receive a $200 stipend for their work. Please send your application to Abby Krumbein at alkrum@umich.edu by April 2, 2013. Click here for application form.
