Submit Your Idea to Lessen the Environmental Impact of Game Day

Release Date:

How can we lessen the environmental impact of Game Day at the University of Michigan?

That's the question and challenge the U-M Athletic Department is issuing to all full-time students at U-M as part of the BASF Team Chemistry Challenge. There is $25,000 in prize money available for the top ideas.

U-M hosts some of the largest sporting events in the country. But hosting these sporting events also creates significant impact. From traffic to noise, waste, water and energy consumption, fans create considerable impact. The BASF Team Chemistry Challenge requires students to create innovative solutions designed to lessen the impact of game day. The student’s submissions will be judged by top executives from BASF offices in Wyandotte and Southfield, as well as representatives from the U-M Athletic Department.  This is a truly unique opportunity for students to get in front of key decision makers at the company.

For more more information—and to register for the competition—please go to http://www.mgoblue.com/promotions. Registration runs through February 25, 2013. So, if you're a full-time U-M student interested in helping Game Day to be more sustainability, please sign up to day. If you  have any additional questions, please feel free to send an email to BASFTeamChemistryChallenge@octagon.com.
