URC Blue Economy ReportThe U-M Water Center, the Dow Sustainability Fellows Program, Michigan Sea Grant, and a research project about Lake Erie algae blooms that involved 18 U-M units were all mentioned in a report released by the University Research Corridor (URC) on Thursday, May 29, 2014.
The report, titled "Innovating for the Blue Economy: Water Research at the URC," was issued in conjunction with the Mackinaw Policy Conference. It highlights important water-related research at the three URC universities: the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Wayne State University.
“We appreciate the recognition in this report,” said Don Scavia, director of the Graham Sustainability Institute, which administers both the Water Center and Dow Sustainability Fellows Program. “But even more importantly, we are glad to provide or facilitate vigorous research to help to solve pressing water-related challenges in our state, our country, and our world."
