More than 60 U-M Faculty members involved in water research participated in a U-M Sustainable Waters Initiative Research Opportunities Meeting on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Michigan League (Hussey Room) from 4 to 6 p.m. The purpose of the meeting was to learn about, and discuss, research needs and funding opportunities related to water.
Freshwater Systems is one of three priority research themes for University of Michigan, and the Sustainable Waters Initiative is part of a university-wide initiative to leverage our multidisciplinary research strengths and institutional capabilities in this important area. There are extraordinary opportunities available for interdisciplinary, solutions-focused research related to water, and the meeting on March 18 was designed to be a valuable catalyst for such activity.
